Well, we made the move, so here we are. Those who haven't come over from LJ yet, we're here and ready for you if you do. It's rather nice here, actually.

For any newcomers, let me introduce myself. I'm the mod around here, and this community started from an idea I had ages ago. Why fear and hate the red pen, when we could embrace it as a symbol?

Thus, the community had a name. One of the LJ members gave it a form, and we had our sandbox.

There was, for a time, a companion RP community, but I left that to my co-mod at the time and some of the other members. If that comes over, it'll be up to them.

This is really a community aimed at original fiction, though for a while, those of us who were also OSW players were posting little things involving the cast we created for that. (It was borderline original stuff, so as mod I thought it would be okay. The game's been closed for a while now, which still makes me a bit sad.)

I do ask that any critique given here is constructive, as outright "omg this sux" flames help nobody. It doesn't have to be all positive, just...make it constructive. Good and bad together. We're trying to be helpful, we're not a mocking place.

So welcome to the community, and may the stories be flowing again!

Yup, for those who are participating, it's the month of novel writing stress, wordcounts in your dreams, and waiting for December to come at last. :)

So hey, why not get the community talking about writing? For those involved in the challenge, what gets you motivated? Are you up to talking about your current work-in-progress? Do you plan on participating again next year?

For those who don't bother with the official month, do you still work on writing anyway? Do you cheer on your friends who are part of the challenge? What do you have in progress right now, if anything?

Let's see how things go, and get some activity again. If anyone has suggestions for challenges here, drop a line as well. There has to be something we can do, right?

(I admit, I've been rather busy lately and I haven't come up with anything myself. Bad mod.)

Okay! Since there isn't much going on in here and we need to get a little blood flowing--and since I'm working on NaNo again this year--I figure I'll post up part of my NaNo every day for the rest of this month. Hopefully. I'll post up roughly according to major plot points and time shifts, so this first part will be short.

Oh dear, oh dear, how time does fly. This is your very humble failmod reporting in, trying to spark new life into this poor neglected community.

The last post in this community was 06 June, last year, so I think it's been more than long enough. Summer approaches, so hopefully that brings creativity to the members, new and old.

That said, I feel I've been most of the problem, so I call to you, the members, for some ideas. Prompts, challenges, round-robin plots, the sky's the limit. This is your chance to tell me what to do, and I'm sure some people may enjoy that idea. :)

As for me, I will try and keep things rolling once we're back in action again. Being so idle is nothing but stressful for me, and I'd be so upset with myself if this place were to simply close down. This is supposed to be our writing circle, a safe place, and if it goes dormant, then what?

So yes, members, I call on you to make your suggestions, to help revive this guild and seriously, tell me what to do. I'm taking orders this time, not giving them, so feel free to say what you want. :)

There's no deadline on submissions, as I'm sure everything will be used at some point. Those of you who have ongoing stories or things you want to post, go for it! Let's get things rolling, in honor of the new year (even if it's already a few months in, who's counting anyway...?) and get the writing going again!

New to the community and want to promote my original fic. Please give me feedback to improve it *bows*

The story revolves around people living in dream and nightmare, two things that at first glance appear to be the complete opposite of each other but truly are not. Two group of people are slowly approaching the thin line between dream and nightmare as family secrets could no longer be buried. When one no longer has home to return to, where should he go? Where does he belong?

A/N: Hi, y'all. I just made my LJ yesterday, and I really want to become a writer (as do the rest of you, so we should get along fine), so I'd love some feedback. This post is the first chapter of my newest on-going story, and I hope you all will enjoy it. I love feedback -- even if it's critique -- because it makes me better, so prepare your bluntest -- I will be blunt back. ^^ I'll participate in challenges and stuff eventually -- when the newest is up, probably.

Summary: Jazz is a quirky and practical girl. She has a minor talent in Seeing -- catching snatches of alternate realities and brief glimpses into the near future -- but this has never seriously impacted her conventional life. That is, until she finds out that she is the Seer -- a mythical being on whom the decisions of an entire world depends.
Disclaimer/Copyright: I do not own lines from Edgar Allen Poe's Alone, nor do I own the concept of Hakunamatata. However, I do own all of the characters and places, as they are products of my imagination, and any resemblance to real people or places is purely coincidental or used in a fictitious manner.
Excerpt/Link: It's the calm before the storm -- and like all the great storms before it, it was of the female persuasion.
